Are you passionate about family medicine? Here’s your chance to make a difference: The OCFP is seeking a Family Physician to join our Board of Directors as we continue to deliver value to our 15,000 family physician members.

Why volunteer as a Board Director?
✓ Support Ontario’s family physicians through education, leadership, advocacy and research
✓ Play a key strategic role to shape the OCFPs programs and services for members
✓ Guide and impact health system change
✓ Develop and use your leadership and governance skills to make an impact
✓ Work with a dedicated and talented group of leaders

What is the time commitment?
✓ 4 to 5 full-day meetings, held in person and virtually.
✓ 2 full-day retreats (scheduled to align with Board meetings)
✓ Participation on a Board Committee that meets virtually for 90 minutes, two weeks before each Board meeting
✓ Directors are appointed for an initial three-year term and may be re-appointed for a second term of three years

What will I bring to the Board?
✓ The Board is skills-based, with Directors bringing complementary skills and perspectives

For our current Board recruitment process, considerations guiding our selection will include, but are not limited to:
✓ Physicians who identify as Black and/or Indigenous
✓ Those with experience leading equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and/or working with populations experiencing structural vulnerabilities
✓ Ideally, currently practising or have recently practised in the following regions/geographic areas:
• North East/North West – North East (Cochrane, Algoma, Sudbury Districts), North West (Kenora, Thunder Bay, Rainy River Districts)
• Toronto Central and Central – Toronto Central (North, East and West Toronto) Central (Richmond Hill, Alliston, Newmarket)
